The 1920's were a time filled with political discord, economic prosperity, and culture redefinition. Corruption ran throughout the federal government, as found in events such as the teapot dome scandal. New and influential writers appeared, as well, including F. Scott Fitzgerald and T. S. Eliot. They were major figure in a new philosophical and literary movement, modernism.
